1. Agreement

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the ScriptChamp add-on and related services ("ScriptChamp"), provided by Story Management, LLC ("we," "us"). By installing, activating, or using ScriptChamp through the Google Workspace Marketplace or Google Docs, you ("you," "User," "Licensee") agree to be legally bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to all of them, do not install or use ScriptChamp.

2. What ScriptChamp is

ScriptChamp is an independent formatting and production toolkit that runs inside Google Docs™, supporting seven writing formats (Screenplay, TV Script, Stage Play, Comic Book, Webcomic, Podcast, and Web Novel). It provides formatting engines, sidebar toolsets, character tools, revision suites, translation features and script report generators. It formats and analyzes documents you provide and generates reports, treatments, and other production documents in your own Google Drive.

ScriptChamp uses no artificial-intelligence text generation. Your writing is never sent to a model and never used to train one.

3. License

ScriptChamp is licensed, not sold. Subject to these Terms and payment of any applicable fees, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, worldwide license to install and use ScriptChamp within your Google account for your own creative and professional work.

4. Plans, pricing, and purchases

ScriptChamp offers the following one-time purchases:

  • Single Format — $29.99: unlocks one script format of your choice.
  • Combo Pack — $44.99: unlocks one of four fixed pairings — Screenplay + TV Script, Screenplay + Stage Play, Comic Book + Webcomic, or Web Novel + Webcomic. These four are the only combinations offered; no other pairing is available at this price. If you want a different mix, or more than two formats, ScriptChamp Pro is the option.
  • ScriptChamp Pro — $69.99 (introductory $49.99 during the first 30 days after launch): unlocks all seven formats plus the Pro-exclusive tools (cross-format conversion, production reports, revision suites, and translation).

All purchases are one-time payments, not subscriptions. There is no recurring monthly or annual fee for a tier you have purchased. Prices are in U.S. dollars and may change for future purchasers; changes do not affect features you have already bought.

Free trial. New users receive a 7-day trial with full access to all features, including Pro. When the trial ends, ScriptChamp locks to the tier you own (or a limited free state if you have not purchased).

Upgrade credit. If you own a Single Format or a Combo Pack and later upgrade to ScriptChamp Pro, the amount you have already paid toward ScriptChamp is credited against the Pro price, so you pay only the difference. Credit applies against the Pro price in effect at the time of upgrade and never reduces the amount owed below zero.

Coupons. Promotional codes (for example, percentage-off codes) may be offered from time to time and are subject to their own terms and expiration.

5. Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe. By purchasing, you agree to Stripe's terms and authorize the charge. We identify your license by the email address associated with your purchase. Payment card details are handled by Stripe; we do not receive or store your full card details. You are responsible for any taxes not collected at checkout.

6. Refunds

If ScriptChamp is not right for you, email support@script-champ.com within 14 days of your purchase and we will refund it in full. Refunds are issued to the original payment method through Stripe and usually appear within a few business days.

Every new user gets a 7-day full-access trial before buying, so you should not have to rely on a refund to find out whether ScriptChamp fits the way you work. Requests made after 14 days are considered case by case. Nothing in this section limits any refund right you have under applicable law.

7. Communications

We will email you about your purchase, your license, and your support requests. We may also send occasional product updates and news about ScriptChamp to the email address you used to purchase. Every one of those emails carries an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing never affects your license or your access to support. We do not use the Google account information the add-on receives for marketing.

8. Your content and responsibilities

You retain full, exclusive copyright, ownership and intellectual property rights in all scripts, stories, characters, documents and creative work written, formatted or processed using ScriptChamp. We claim no ownership, copyright or implied license over anything you create. You are responsible for your content and for using ScriptChamp lawfully.

You are responsible for maintaining your own backups. ScriptChamp's revision and backup features are conveniences, not a substitute for your own backups.

9. Acceptable use

You agree that you will not, and will not permit any third party to:

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code of the add-on.
  • Sublicense, rent, sell, redistribute or lease access to ScriptChamp, or use it to build a competing product.
  • Modify, tamper with, or bypass any license verification or activation mechanism in the add-on.
  • Use ScriptChamp to create or process unlawful material, or in any manner that violates applicable local, state, national or international law.

10. Third-party services, trademarks and compatibility

Service dependencies. ScriptChamp relies on Google (the document engine and Apps Script platform), Stripe (payment processing) and LanguageTool (the external spell/grammar check). Your use of those services is subject to their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services' availability or actions.

Google. Google Docs™, Google Drive™ and Google Workspace™ are trademarks of Google LLC. ScriptChamp is an independent application and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Google LLC.

Descriptive industry references. Industry, publisher and platform names that appear inside ScriptChamp — including Final Draft, Samuel French, the Dramatists Guild, Marvel, DC Comics, the BBC, WEBTOON, Tapas, Wattpad, Royal Road, Scribble Hub, Substack, ACX, Apple Podcasts and Spotify — are used strictly descriptively, to identify a writing convention, a house style or a destination a writer is preparing work for. No affiliation with, endorsement by, sponsorship from, or certification by any of these organizations is implied.

11. Availability and changes

We may update, change, or discontinue features, and may change pricing, at any time. Material changes to these Terms will be posted on our website with a revised "Last updated" date, and continued use after they take effect constitutes acceptance. We aim to give notice of material changes but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Automated generation (reports, page estimates, conversions, translations) is provided on a best-effort basis and may contain inaccuracies; review outputs before relying on them.

12. Disclaimer of warranties

SCRIPTCHAMP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that ScriptChamp will operate uninterrupted or error-free, or that automated outputs (including reports, page estimates and translations) will be entirely accurate or complete.

13. Limitation of liability

General. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, STORY MANAGEMENT, LLC AND ITS DEVELOPERS, OFFICERS AND AFFILIATES WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST DATA, PROFITS, REVENUE OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE SCRIPTCHAMP.

Loss of work. ScriptChamp changes formatting and interface elements inside Google Docs and does not delete your files. Even so, Story Management, LLC is not liable for loss of work, data corruption or deleted files arising from your use of the software. Keeping independent backups of your manuscripts remains your responsibility.

Trial expiration and deadlines. Story Management, LLC is not liable for lost productivity, missed deadlines, financial loss or professional damages resulting from trial expiration, feature deactivation, or loss of access to the software's tools.

Cap. OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ANY AND ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO SCRIPTCHAMP WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU ACTUALLY PAID FOR SCRIPTCHAMP IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

14. Termination

You may stop using ScriptChamp and uninstall it at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violation of these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive (ownership, disclaimers, liability limits) survive termination.

15. Governing law and dispute resolution

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any legal action or proceeding arising under these Terms shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California.
