How do I install ScriptChamp?
ScriptChamp is a Google Docs™ add-on. When it goes live on the Google Workspace Marketplace, you will install it from there and it appears under Extensions in any Google Doc. Email us and we will tell you the moment it is available.
Which formats does it support?
Seven: Screenplay, TV Script, Stage Play, Comic Book, Webcomic, Podcast and Web Novel. Each one has its own formatting rules, reports and production documents.
Do I need to move my writing somewhere new?
No. ScriptChamp works inside the Google Doc you already have open. The only text that ever leaves your document is what you choose to translate, which goes to Google's translator.
What can ScriptChamp see?
Only the document you have open and the files it creates for you. It requests four narrow Google permissions and no restricted ones, so the rest of your Drive is invisible to it. Full detail is in the Privacy Policy.
Does ScriptChamp use AI?
No. Your writing is never sent to a model and never used for training.
Is it a subscription?
No. Every plan is a one-time purchase, and whatever you have already spent counts toward an upgrade. Every new user gets a 7-day full-access trial, including Pro.

What comes with a Single Format licence?
Every layout inside your format, the core formatting tools, Scene List, Cast List, Statistics, Quick Draft, Quick Scene, and supported import and export. It also includes the Final Draft templates for the layouts you own. Pro adds the other six formats, Quick Adapt between them, revisions, translation and the production workflows.
What happens after my 7-day trial?
The trial unlocks every format and every Pro tool for 7 calendar days, with no card. When it ends, ScriptChamp uses the licence you bought. If you did not buy one, you continue with the free tools.
Do I ever pay to undo something?
No. You will never have to pay to undo something ScriptChamp changed. Every rewriting tool saves a restore point to your own Google Drive first, and Revert is always free.
What if I already use Final Draft?
They work together. Import .fdx files, export your script as .fdx, and use the Final Draft templates included with your licence. Draft in Google Docs, then hand off in Final Draft when you need to.
Where are the Terms and the Privacy Policy?
Both live on this site and are open to anyone, with no account or login needed: the Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy. They are also linked in the footer of every page. The Terms cover the license, one-time pricing and the trial; the Privacy Policy covers exactly what the add-on can and cannot see.
Still stuck?
Every layout, as a Final Draft template.
All 28 ScriptChamp layouts, built for Final Draft 11, 12 and 13. They open empty, so your first line is your own, and each one carries the same geometry ScriptChamp writes in Google Docs. A script you export from ScriptChamp and a script you start from the matching template are the same page.
Installing them
Double-click any .fdxt file ScriptChamp gives you. Final Draft opens it and offers to keep it. That is the whole install, it works
the same on a Mac and on Windows, and it does not care where Final Draft came from.
Using Final Draft 11?
Final Draft 11 shows a message each time it opens one of these templates, saying the file was created in a newer version and that some data may be lost. That is expected, and it is safe. Click OK and the template opens normally.
Nothing in your script is affected. The two things Final Draft 11 ignores are the preview thumbnail and description that Final Draft 12 and 13 show in the template picker, and a flag used by the outline view. Final Draft 11 has neither feature, so there is nothing there for it to lose. Every element, indent, font and margin comes through.
Sharing drafts with someone on Final Draft 12?
Final Draft 13 saves files marked Version="6", and Final Draft 12 cannot open
them. This is how Final Draft works. It applies to any file a writer on 13
saves, including one begun from a blank page, and no version of Final Draft saves down.
If you swap drafts with someone on 12, agree which version you are both working in before you start.
Installing all 28 at once instead
Dragging the files straight into Final Draft's own templates folder is quicker for 28, but the folder depends on where you got Final Draft, and putting them in the wrong one is silent: nothing appears and nothing tells you why.

Final Draftfolder underApplication Support, you have the App Store copy. In Finder, use Go › Go to Folder and paste the path. - Windows. Use the double-click method above. Final Draft does not publish a reliable folder path for Windows, and we are not going to invent one.
Restart Final Draft after a bulk copy. The templates then appear under My Templates when you start a new document, each one named for the layout it builds.
If they do not show up
You are almost certainly looking at the other folder. Use the double-click method on a single file: if that one appears and the dragged ones did not, the folder was the problem, and the paths above say which is which.

Do the templates change?
Yes, whenever a layout does. The zip is rebuilt from the same engines the add-on runs, so it is always the current set. Download it again to refresh, and drop the new files over the old ones.
If you installed an earlier set, check the names against the list above. Dropping the new files in replaces the ones with matching names, but a template for a layout we no longer offer has no replacement to overwrite it, so it stays in your list until you delete it. There are 28. If you have more than 28, the extras are the old ones.
